API stands for Application Programming Interface, which is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. An API product bundles resources (such as API proxies) in order to provide a specific level of access and functionality for client app developers. On the other hand an API product typically specifies a list of API proxies, along with access limits, API key approval method, and other configuration that should be in place for all of the bundled proxies.

A sandbox URL is a testing environment so that the live data is not manipulated and it consists of the test parameters whereas a Live URL consists of legitimate parameters of the active/working environment.

An App cannot be shared among multiple developers, but the App key can be shared at your own consent.

Log in with your developer account > Go to Build/My Apps > Add a new App You can choose the API(s) you want to use and get their keys

To get more than one set of API keys you just have to create another app with same API.

You can simultaneously create as many apps as you want and also have them active at the same time.

You can make a custom product by merging as many API Products as you like and get a single API key to access all the selected APIs.

To check the expiry date of an App that is created, you can go to "My Apps" and click on the App that you want to check the expiry for, and on the "Keys" tab there is an expiry field that will display the API key expiry date.

Developers can go to My Apps after logging in to RBC Developers and can create the App. Access to the Sandbox product will be approved immediately. Access to the live APIs will be given on a case by case basis.
